Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 15, 2025
Overview
The RADAR DSA Tagger ("Add-on") is provided by CheckFirst OY ("we", "us", or "our"), a Finnish company (Business ID: FI3143603-4). This Privacy Policy explains how the Add-on handles information when you use it in Google Docs.
The simple version: We don't collect, store, or track any of your data. The Add-on only helps you search the RADAR Framework and insert tags into your documents.
Information We Don't Collect
The RADAR DSA Tagger is designed with privacy in mind:
- We don't collect personal information
- We don't store your documents or content
- We don't track your usage or behavior
- We don't use analytics or cookies
- We don't share data with third parties
- We don't retain search queries
How the Add-on Works
When you use the RADAR DSA Tagger:
- Search Queries: When you search for infringements, your search terms are sent directly to the RADAR Framework API to return relevant results. These queries are not logged or stored.
- Document Access: The Add-on only accesses the current Google Doc™ you're working in, and only to insert the RADAR tagging annex when you explicitly request it.
- Settings: Your preferences (like default platform name) are stored locally in your Google™ account using Google™'s Properties Service. We cannot access these settings.
- API Calls: All requests to the RADAR Framework API are made through Google™'s servers. Your IP address is not visible to us.
Data Flow
Your Search → Google™ Servers → RADAR API → Search Results → Your Browser
- Search queries are transmitted securely via HTTPS
- The RADAR API processes requests without storing them
- Results are displayed only in your browser
- No data is retained after your session
Google Integration
The Add-on requires certain Google™ permissions to function:
- View and manage documents: Only for the current document, only to insert the RADAR annex
- Connect to external service: Only to search the public RADAR Framework API
- Display interface: To show the sidebar in Google Docs
These permissions are used solely for the Add-on's functionality and no data is extracted or stored.
RADAR Framework API
The RADAR Framework API (api.radar.checkfirst.network):
- Is a public, read-only API
- Does not require authentication
- Does not store search queries
- Only returns publicly available DSA information
User Rights
Since we don't collect any personal data, traditional data rights (access, deletion, portability) don't apply. However, you can:
- Uninstall the Add-on at any time through Google Workspace
- Clear your settings stored in your Google account
- Contact us with any privacy concerns
Children's Privacy
The Add-on is intended for professional use in DSA work. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes will be posted at https://checkfirst.network/radar-privacy with an updated revision date.
Legal Basis
As we don't process personal data, GDPR provisions largely don't apply. The Add-on operates as a tool that you control entirely, similar to a calculator or text formatter.
This Privacy Policy is written to be transparent and easy to understand. The RADAR DSA Tagger is designed to be a privacy-respecting tool that helps with DSA work without compromising your data.
